So apparently, my parents were in the airport when they caught the 21 terrorists yesterday. Yeah, kind of freaked me out. My sister told me, and isn't very good at phrasing things. >_< Also, my middle school science teacher got arrested for sex crimes. WTF.
Yesterday Brandon, Ryan and I went back to Raleigh and the area to pick up more things, run some more errands and have dinner with their dad. We said goodbye to Ryan, and got back rather late here in Gbo. This morning, Brandon woke me up (kinda nice... I could get used to this) and we went with Chris to check out the new buildings.
So it seems that all I need to do to get a job is to walk past the right door. We ran into Professor Cassidy, who told me he wanted me to work in the Design Lab. I checked the email he had sent, and pay is $7/hr. That's more than I made at the jewelry store! So yes!
My room is very small, but doesn't seem to be too much of a problem.
Later, Rachel, Mairi and Sara are coming! Yay! This is going to be awesome. XD |

Went with ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) ecojosh out for sushi to celebrate his ~*new job*~ and then back to my dorm to watch a couple of MST3K's. It's hilarious how terrible the editing in "Girl in Gold Boots" is! At one point, a guy just suddenly appears in a chair, with no transition whatsoever! He just pops out of thin air, and it's not meant to be a jump cut because the dialogue keeps flowing as if nothing has happened. Did they not watch the whole movie before they printed it? Or did they just not see it?
Could. Not. Sleep this morning. So I took a half-hour long shower at 4am and am now very, very tired. Will probably take a nap and sleep through lunch. Not feeling very hungry.
Went to a training session for work this morning. I was kind of dreading it, because it was going to be like four of us working with the manager, which would've been awkward since I missed the state meeting by going to the Con... but I get there, and the two assistant managers who are extremely nice and friendly, told me they were just going to wing it because the manager broke two ribs. By tripping.
There's a tablet going for $70 bucks on overstock.com. Yes? No? Yes? No?

Ever since going to the Con (I dropped off the film today!! Should have photos scanned in and up by montag) I've had music from the Anime Music Videos stuck in my head. Right now it's that "Ninja of the Night" one, but last night Josh reminded me of that weird midget pirate song from the One Piece vid. I've even downloaded a few songs and have had them on repeat (Contradanza especially). Not that I mind...
Fluffy outgrew his bowl, so I bought him a small 2.5 gallon tank. He's kind of lost in it now... he's so small. But now he's got room, but he's not looking so good. He's eating (of course) but he's not as perky as usual.
Felt really moody this afternoon. Like, worried sick moody. No reason, the feeling'll pass by the morning, I'm sure. Had a quick dinner and went back to the dorm to relax a while. Went to the office, and it started snowing on my way home. Hmmm... I'm going to go check and see if it's still snowing. |

I went with ecojosh to WTHCon (What the Hell!? Con) this weekend! It ran from Friday night to about 2 hours ago. It was FANTASTIC!! Mike Nelson came and gave a talk, he was really funny, and I took a bunch of photos. I'll put them up when I get them developped and scanned. It was amazing to see someone I'd seen on TV since elementary school. The Con was fun, I D&D'd for the first time, played DDR, got addicted to Taiko DrumMaster, watched a bunch of Anime Music Videos, as well as a few episodes of Sexy Commando, Mermaid Melody Pitchy Pitchy Pitch, Prince of Tennis, and some obscure Dracula anime. The whole Con was really cool, I loved it. Can't wait for StellarCon!! |

So I went back to the doctor yesterday, who basically looked and poked at my eye, winced, and immediately set up an appointment for me to see a professional today. I'm hoping I get to wear an eyepatch or something, because that would look so much cooler than my eye does right now. While he was calling the pro, I sneaked a look at my records, where I read "worsening staph in R eye, possible spread to L eye." Nothing's ever easy, is it?
Drew some awesome skulls, but the school scanner hates me, so while they scanned in, I couldn't save them, or else I'd post them to show them off because I really like how they turned out. Skuuuuullls.
Going to What-the-Hell!? Con this weekend because omg omg Mike Nelson (!) is going to be there. Mike Nelson!!! There are no emoticons for how excited I am right now. 'Twill also be my first con ever. Oooo.
Huygens lands on Titan tomorrow!! Very excited about that too. Mankind's first ever look at Titan beneath its clouds, if all goes well! It should launch from Cassini around 6am, but we won't know much until later that day or even Saturday. |

Ended up in the doctor's office today because my right eye was hurting really badly. Turns out I have a severe eye infection (it's genetic, my sister had it last summer) and I'm on pills and ointment, and have to go back tomorrow to see if it's worse, and if it is, I have to go to an optometrist. Damn. I can't stand to have things near my eyes. Eye exams are no fun.
Not to mention the PAIN! The PAIN! It BURNS!! No really, it's like being perpetually submerged in chlorine with your eye(s) open. Not to mention even more now because of recent Safe-T Rider viewings. Also completely forgot to get my philosophy book. Must get that after appointment tomorrow, if I live. |

So after getting lost lost lost for my 9 am class (it's a 3 hour class, look and see what time I'm posting this at), a lady comes in and says that our professor is gone for the week, so just get these supplies for next wednesday and we'll be drawing skulls. I've never heard a teacher swear this much when not angry. Now if that's not the most awesome first class ever, I don't know what is. We got out after 10 minutes! And skulls!! Drawing skulls!! Eeee!

Today consisted mostly of watching TV while surfing the internet (ah, the joy of laptops!) because I had the house all to myself and could do whatever I wanted or didn't want. Thinking, for example, wasn't very high on the list today. And it's all because of this new channel my house is getting. It's Boomerang, a division of Cartoon Network which shows only classic cartoons. So now I'm able to actually see the Jetsons! I love that show!!
Then some Scooby Doo came on so I switched to Nickelodeon, because I was then craving cartoons. I didn't expect Nick Jr., but I ended up watching it anyway, because I landed on this new show from Iceland called "Lazytown." Over the course of the episode, my moods went from "WTF?" to "This isn't real..." to "Kids watch this?" The purpose of the show (so they say) is to teach kids about eating right and excerise. It's about Lazytown, the population of which consists of 3 human characters and 4 puppets. The hero, Sporticus, is SO flippin' healthy, that the only thing he can do is jump and flip. And he has this crazy Snidley Whiplash-esque mustache. Did I mention he lives in a blimp? Stephanie, the girl with HOT PINK hair, waters the vegetable garden while the puppets look on, anxious (carrots? dear lord no!!), and Robbie (teh b4d guy) wears the most bizarre suit, has a couple of oil slicks for EYEBROWS, and overacts his expressions so intensely that I swore he had a cactus in his pants.
So of COURSE I just had to look up this tumor of a show (but I give it points for not being "The Big Comfy Couch") online, and you can see a "music video" HERE and the official site HERE. I was looking at the discontinued merchandise on their site, and saw THIS and had to look twice at the name of the thing. I'm an inner tube!
This Lati here had nothing to do with any inflatables, I can promise you that.
EDIT: I apologize if I offended anyone. Hey, I'm probably going to watch this show again if I see it again, so kudos to you :D |

Whoo! Having a great day! I feel wonderful, and have my night planned out as 1. Internet time, 2. Shower, 3. Sketch time, 4. Reading in bed. Whee! And it's 9:45! ecojosh visited today, and we walked through, around, and inside UNC-CH. Saw the art museum and the planetarium, among other sights. I'm going back to school sometime this weekend, so zonked? dm? m4? taz (if you're around)? I expect to meet up with one or more of you soon, please. (super_cs I'll see you somewhere around G).
